If you don’t like fruits as is and your mother is pestering you to consume some sort of healthy food, don’t worry we’ve got your back. Try this super simple, healthy fruit smoothie recipe that will leave you wanting for more. These smoothies are packed with nutrients and taste, so much so that you will now believe healthy eating can be tasty as well.

What will you need?

Pick your fruit - You chose strawberries, blackberries, raspberries, and bananas to be your base, but any combo of fruit is great. Make a tropical smoothie of pineapple, mango, and banana or add blueberry and peach to switch it up a bit for a summer twist. Aim for about 3 cups of fruit.

Frozen or fresh - For smoothies, frozen fruit is best. It blends up thicker than fresh fruit and gives you a really cold smoothie to enjoy after blending.

Add a thickener – You can unsweetened Greek yogurt in your smoothie, but peanut butter, almond butter, or vanilla yogurt are all great options

Choose a liquid - Almond milk is great for the added nutty flavor, but coconut milk pairs well with a tropical smoothie and gives a richer, creamier flavor. Whole milk or fruit juice also work well.

Throw some add ins- Add some flax seeds for additional nutrition. Flavors like fresh mint, vanilla extract, cinnamon, or honey will take any smoothie to the next level.

Ingredients

  • 1 banana
  • 1 cup frozen strawberries
  • 1 cup frozen blackberries, plus more for garnish (optional)
  • 1 cup frozen raspberries
  • 1 1/4 up almond milk
  • 1/2 cup Greek yogurt/peanut butter/almond butter

Directions

  • In a blender, combine all ingredients and blend until smooth.
  • Divide between 2 cups and top with blackberries, if desired.

Sit back and relax with your smoothie. This will act as a great in between meal nutrition and will also help you keep the heat at bay especially during the summers. If you are looking for tropical tastes, use the seasonal fruits and stay cool and healthy.
